Judy, Quit "Playing"

Today, I said to myself: Self, you can not "play" anymore on TSLA Learning 2.0 until you get some other things done. You, self, have been neglecting other projects. No wonder folks get in trouble for "playing on the Internet" at work. This stuff can be addictive. James S. had redesigned my template for my blog. And, I appreciate it, but I have to stop "playing" for awhile. j.g.

Learning how to do The Library Thing

As part of our TSLA Learning 2.0 exercises, we are using The Library Thing website to catalog our personal library. Since I am not actually in my home right now, I put in just a few titles of mine that I took off of the top of my head. The IRL race at Michigan: Dario using one of his "9 lives"

It is Monday. The Indy Racing League was at the Michigan International Speedway yesterday. After a four hour rain delay, the race got underway. Toward the end of the race, Dario Franchitti, 2007 Indy 500 winner, got into trouble. His car went airborn. But he walked away unhurt. An incident like that verifies the safety that is built into open wheel racing cars these days. But, he still was using one of his "9 lives."

At the bottom of this blog page is a link to the Indy Racing League website's "I am Indy" page. A promotional video was introduced earlier this year. Three different people told me my license plate was a part of that video before I ever saw it myself. The video starts out with pictures of race fans and "I am Party," then other pictures. Toward the end, there is a slide, "Maybe Fanatical." The next slide is a picture of my license plate. To view it, click on the link that will take you to the "I am Indy" page. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. There will be a black "video box" after the words to "I am Indy." Click on the small right-arrow in the lower left hand corner of the black "box." Sometimes it takes awhile to load. You may need to click on the box a second time for it to start. There is sound to the video for your computer's speakers.

I think it is pretty cool to have one's license plate in a promotional commercial. This promotion commercial plays on ESPN during the Indy Racing League broadcasts.

I do not really know when the picture was taken. My guess is it was when my car was parked at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway parking lot sometime last year.

Sharing Brickyard 400 pictures (7/29/07)

Thought I would share some pictures from the Brickyard 400 Nascar Race at the Indy Motor Speedway last week (7/29/07), with Tony Stewart, a Hoosier from Rushville and Columbus, Indiana, as the winner.
